As we learned yesterday, during its 2010 Dealer Announcement Show in Orlando earlier this week, Chrysler Group LLC showed dealers a successor to the 2012 Dodge Viper. According to sources, the 2012 Dodge Viper concept shown to dealers resembled the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione with a Viper face.
“Dealers said they were told the company’s new product committee took one look at the Viper and unanimously approved its production within five minutes,” The Wall Street Journal reported. The Dodge Viper ended production at Chrysler’s Conner Avenue assembly plant in Detroit on July 1.
Alfa Romeo sold the limited-edition 8C Competizione in select Maserati dealerships throughout North America. A total of 84 coupes and 35 Spiders (convertibles) were sold in 2009 through seven Maserati dealerships.
